We have rolled back the validation-library upgrade that caused the issue, and the Passthrough API is operating normally again. We will remain on the previous version while we further test the fix we’ve identified.
The underlying requests were successfully processed by the connected systems. The failure occurred afterward, while relaying their responses back to API clients. Before retrying an affected request, customers should check its status in the API logs in their Kombo Dashboard.
We’re sorry for any production impact this may have caused. Please reach out to Kombo Support if you have any questions.

Monitoring
On September 25, between approximately 17:24 and 17:45 CEST, requests to the Passthrough API experienced an elevated rate of server errors.
The issue was caused by an upgrade to a validation library, which made part of our Passthrough response validation unexpectedly reject previously accepted responses. This only affected the Passthrough API; our other API surfaces continued operating normally.
The issue was resolved at 17:45, and error rates have remained normal since. Requests that failed during this period may need to be retried. We’re reviewing our validation and rollout checks to prevent a similar issue.
